What You’ll See
At Caño Island, divers encounter both pelagic (open ocean) species and Pacific reef fish—many of which are also found in the Galapagos Islands. Common sightings include:

White-tipped reef sharks (up to 2 meters long), silky sharks, bull sharks, and occasionally hammerheads

Manta rays and hundreds of lesser devil rays

Schools of jackfish, parrotfish, snappers, barracuda, tangs, and surgeonfish

Free-swimming moray eels, often 2 meters long

Dolphins and, during whale season, the chance to dive to the songs of Humpback Whales
